REGISTRATION

Stella Maris Nursing Home is Registered with HIQA (Health Information and Quality Authority), the V.H.I. and is a member of Nursing Homes Ireland (N.H.I).

Stella Maris is Registered with HIQA (Health Information and Quality Authority) and is inspected regularly to ensure that standards of care are being maintained. Inspections maybe announced or unannounced and may occur during the day, in the evening, at night, or at weekends. Registration is renewed every three years. The registration process is independent and reports will be published after each inspection.

Stella Maris Nursing Home is a Member of Nursing Homes Ireland. We are committed to their shared vision and goals. Nursing Homes Ireland is the single representative body of the private and voluntary Nursing Homes sector in Ireland and is therefore a key part of the Irish Health Service. Their vision is to ensure that all residents of Nursing Homes will receive high quality care. As a single representative body, Nursing Homes Ireland, working alongside the Government and other key stakeholders can influence important health decisions and policies which effect residential care services. The Mission Statement of Nursing Homes Ireland states that Members are committed to the provision of high standards of care, support and respect for older people who are resident in Nursing Homes.

Stella Maris Nursing Home provides a high standard of care and treatment in accordance with evidence-based best practice, to provide a living environment that as far as possible replicates the residents’ previous lifestyle, ensuring that residents live in a comfortable, clean, and safe environment. Our residents are treated with respect and dignity. Staff are sensitive to individual needs and abilities. It is our objective to promote the greatest possible independence of every resident no matter what their level of dependency.Their quality of life will be enhanced by a wide range of activities that we encourage them to engage in.
